96 with spacer back in about 50MPG. But I had a similar fouling problem when I bought my bike used. The dealer had changed the pilot jet and the batch the got in were too large but marked with a slightly larger number than stock. Be sure to check it when you open the carb. Also you said you raised the float. If that was upside down that would have leaned it, however if it was right side up that would also richen the whole air fuel ratio as it would be easier for the fuel to move into the air stream. run it a it lowest part of the adustment range if it running rich. Also check for plugged air bleeds as they are there to reduce the siphom effect and if plugged even partly they will cause more fuel to flow. I can give you OE part # if you do not have a manual. Max
